Children who wish to learn Tae Kwon Do will start at the beginner level white belt. They will be taught various punching and kicking techniques as well as respect and self-confidence. They will be kept under a watchful eye while being taught by Master Park and other black belt instructors. Colour belt testings to improve ranks will be taken every month by Master Park.
As they move up into higher ranks, they will start to learn more complicated and difficult techniques. They will also start to learn the Olympic sport of Tae Kwon Do, sparring. They will be taught how to spar against another opponent and will also be taught different techniques that may be used while sparring. Some students may be eligible for various Ontario tournaments.
Those who join at a later belt will be put into their respective classes according to their experience and belt level.
Black belts at JSC Tae Kwon Do will be faced with a lot of responsibility. They will teach students and help Master Park with his teachings. As black belts, they also will still be learning much harder techniques and kicks compared to those of a colour belt.
They will not only learn techniques, but they will also be joining the JSC Demo Team. The JSC Demo Team consists of all black belts. They go out and spread the name of JSC Tae Kwon Do while doing various Tae Kwon Do demonstrations that wow the audience. They must be very dedicated to this for there is a lot of work that is put into each and every demo.
Though the work is much harder and tougher, the final result is all worth it in the end.
JSC Tae Kwon Do does have an adult class! All those who are over the age of 14 are eligible to join the adult class. The adult class goes at a slower pace than those in the children’s class.
Every class has a Cardio component. Good cardio is essential to Tae Kwon Do, especially for sparring and tournaments.
